PythonGirl In Africa

The PythonGirl In Africa agenda is aimed at providing, improving and promoting computer literacy through programming with Python with priority given to the female in society. This initiative seeks to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UN-SDG 4) on quality education.
We hope and seek to give roots and wings to the youth across Africa through this medium in a supportive, challenging and orderly environment and to enable them to be up-to-date with the current information technology wave around the world.

This training is free and available for both genders between the ages of 12 to 21 with priority given to the girls in Africa. Also, skills acquired after the program is coupled with an internationally recognized certificate in Africa and across the world. Training begins in Ghana from February 2020 and wish to open up voluntary applications for instructors (individuals with Python skills) in Ghana and across the world.

The first phase of PythonGirl In Africa program commences in Ghana from February 2020, with plans to run across selected West and Central African countries, which include Gabon, Congo, Mali, Senegal, Liberia, Niger, Mauritania, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Cape Verde, Gambia, Benin, Togo, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Guinea-Bissau
Students will be provided with learning and writing materials such as books, pens, text books and alike to facilitate or enhance their studies. They will also be served snacks after studies. Qualified and registered students on our program will also have a unique ID card each during study periods. ID cards will be worn at all times for easy identification when class is in session.

Moreover, volunteer instructors for PythonGirl In Africa are individuals who have received previous training from well-known Python clubs. Such trained individuals who seek to volunteer or give back to society will have to demonstrate the need to be on this initiative and their expectation at the end on the program in Ghana and in respective countries.
